The JoJo 10 Inch 1 Micron PP Sediment Filter Cartridge captures very fine sediment, dirt, rust and other suspended particles down to 1 micron. It is ideal for point-of-use systems and lower-volume whole-house filtration applications where finer filtration and improved water clarity are required.

Sediment cartridges are commonly used on their own or as the first stage of a multi-stage filtration system. By removing sediment before the water reaches a carbon or Disruptor™ cartridge, the 1 Micron cartridge helps protect the next filtration stage and extend its service life.

When should you choose a 1 Micron cartridge?

A 1 Micron cartridge is suitable when you want to:

• Remove very fine sediment and suspended particles
• Improve water clarity
• Provide finer filtration than a 5 or 10 Micron cartridge
• Protect a carbon or Disruptor™ cartridge installed in the next stage

Because it captures smaller particles, a 1 Micron cartridge may restrict flow sooner and require more frequent replacement, particularly where the incoming water contains high levels of sediment.

Using it in a multi-stage system

For water with high sediment levels, use a 10 or 5 Micron cartridge in Stage 1, followed by the 1 Micron cartridge in Stage 2. This allows the first cartridge to capture larger particles before the water passes through the finer 1 Micron filter, helping maintain better flow and extend cartridge life.

• Cartridge life depends on your incoming water quality, water usage and the combination of cartridges in your filtration system.
• A noticeable decrease in water flow is a clear indication that the cartridge may need to be replaced.
• Where water contains a high sediment load, install a 5 or 10 Micron cartridge before the 1 Micron cartridge.
• Suitable for municipal, rainwater and borehole water applications, provided the water source is appropriately managed.
• Borehole water should be tested to identify the correct treatment requirements and confirm that it is safe for domestic use.
